Sicky Husband=Tired Wife

So Allen got the flu. It came on in a matter of minutes. We were out shopping and he was fine one minute, teeth chattering, face pale and the chills the next. By the time we got home he had a fever of 103.9. Yesterday we went to the minute clinic. Did any of you know they have little urgent care clinics inside some CVS's? Crazy. But very cool and no wait. My mom and Allen's mom wanted me to take him in to make sure it was the flu. Well it was. Influenza B to be exact (they have a little test) I had to tell Aiden he was at work because he kept wanting to go see him in our room. Poor baby threw a tantrum when Allen came out at bath time then went back in the room. Allen was having hot sweats off and on all day yesterday and last night. I pretty much tried to keep him quarantined from the boys. Oh and he threw up on the bed...not a lot (missed the bowel I gave him) but who do you think had to clean it up? Daisy also decided to poop and pee in the house (because it was raining) and Duke decided to throw up..this was all with in about an hour of each other. So needless to say my day was pretty full yesterday.
Allen woke up this morning and seems a lot better. So I am PRAYING it was just a 24 hour thing. I am PRAYING even HARDER that the boys DO NOT get it. UGH. Also that I don't get it. Because really who takes care of mommy when she's sick? Mommy. LOL. I don't think Allen would be cleaning up my puke or bringing me water and crackers every 30 minutes. Or wrangling the kids and telling them I'm not there.
So pray along with me that the boys and I stay healthy. We are getting out of the house today after being stuck inside most of yesterday due to taking care of Allen and the rain.
Have a good weekend everyone!

Keeping kids rear facing as long as possible

This is something I get questioned about A LOT. I think a big reason is because Aiden is so tall for his age people think he should be forward facing. I get a lot of, "He looks so uncomfortable." or " His legs are so long" My number one concern as his mother is to keep him safe. After doing a lot of research I decided to keep him rear facing as long as it meant he was safer. Allen and I agreed that is was the right decision for us as a family.
We will be moving Aiden to face forward soon because his head is nearing the top of his car seat, when we should be moving him. It works out great also because Jake is nearing the weight limit for his infant carrier. He is a chunker at almost 20 lbs!!! (only 5 1/2 months!) The weight limit is 22 lbs. I figure with in the next month we will install the other convertible car seat (same as Aiden's seat now) forward facing and put Aiden in that one and Jake in Aiden's rear facing one.
For anyone who is curious here is a link to the safety of keeping your kids rear facing:

Memorial Day BBQ

We had a pretty good time this past weekend. Allen worked saturday, but had Sunday and Monday off. Sunday we met Brian and Heather at the swapmeet and had a great time being outside in the nice weather. Aiden had a great time running around! I finally got myself some sandles and we also got a couple things for the back yard. Sunday afternoon we dropped the boys off at Grandma and Grandpa Puig's house while Allen and I ran some earrands for Monday. Boys had a great time as usual hanging out with Grandma, Grandpa, his Aunties, and Joey (soon to be Uncle Joey!) Kim and Jeff came up from San Deigo and spent the night. We BBQ'd some carne asada which was YUMMY! Then hung out, had a couple beers , and played Wii.

Monday we had a pool party & BBQ for memorial day. We all had a great time!! Everyone swam, played, and ate some good food!! I would love to have the pictures more organized..but I'm just not that talented...yet!

Because my husband thinks he was forgotten on the blog, this is for him:

Allen being Mr. Soppy Pants

First blog

This is my first blog. I am going to try to post at least 3 x a week. This is a blog for family and friends to keep updated with all of us ;) Especially the boys since they grow so fast!

Yesterday Allen was on call so we went to Disneyland with the boys for a few hours. We had a blast! As did the boys. The park was crazy and almost regretted going when we saw the parking line! Once we were in it was great and didnt' wait longer then 5 minutes for a ride. We went on Pooh Bear, Haunted Mansion, and Pirates. The older Aiden gets the more fun we have taking him! He oohs and AWES through out all the rides. Points and tells us about everything (in his own Aiden language). It's great. We only stayed for a few hours before Allen had to come home and head to work but it was a great day. We are really working on having more quality family time!

Today we are taking it easy. Aiden seems like he might be coming down with a cold so I am trying to head it off at the pass with lots of fluids, a multi vitamin, and taking it easy!! Lets hope it works because I don't want my poor baby to get another cold~! Plus I killed my back alternating both boys yesterday, so I need to take it easyas well.

Jake is my handful as always. He refuses to nap longer then 30 minutes. Sometimes, SOMETIMES I can get an hour out of him, but rarley. He wants constant stimulation or is whinning. We are working on him sleeping in his crib so wish me luck!

Have a great day and weekend everyone!
